A Non-Destructive, Easy Modification
I noticed that the spacing of the case screws of the Palmer PDI-09 DI box are identical to that of the rack-mount holes at the rear of the Quilter Tone Block 200. I recently played a show where I planned to try the Tone Block out on the floor with my pedals and go direct into the PA without bringing along my speaker cabinet.
After making up a cheap board out of a piece of wood, which made it difficult to fit everything in my carry bag I lucked upon this discovery of the screw spacing, so now the DI box and the Tone Block become one unit and now don’t need some contraption to carry them together. It worked perfectly and the show was a success.

Are you running your speaker out or your direct out from the Quilter into your Palmer pdi-09? I’m wanting to this same exact setup, but have read that the Palmer can fry if you don’t put some of the load in to a speaker cab, when using the speaker out of the amp. Thank you for the great find on this. Looking forward to having the same rig as you now!

I am running the speaker out into my PDI-09 then into the cab. I also run it without the cab connected when I need totally silent recording.
I seem to recall confirming that the Toneblock 200 will run without a speaker load connected safely, but I suggest you get that confirmation yourself from the horse’s mouth.

why dont you just use the direct out from the tone block? does it not sound good?

The Quilter DI out is not speaker emulated, so the tone of it doesn’t really appeal to me. It sounds ok clean, but as soon as I add a boost or overdrive I don’t like the sound of it.
There are plenty of players who like it though, so it obviously works for plenty of people.
