Cerberus Also Delivers for me on Acoustic
For me the Cerberus has done it again by providing me with my perfect acoustic guitar rig. Likely to be seldom used in this way live by me anyway, but there when I need it.
I simplified things and improved the settings since making the video, but the principle is still the same pretty much.
Now I have 4 acoustic guitar presets. I can’t use it in manual mode due to the way I have everything set up (see the video for details on that), but I also don’t need to do any kind of switching mid-song when I’m playing acoustic.
The 4 presets are:
- Acoustic 1 – Dry (Gibson Hummingbird IR)
- Acoustic 1 – Reverb(Gibson Hummingbird IR)
- Acoustic 1 – Chorus & Reverb (Gibson Hummingbird IR)
- Acoustic 2 – Dry (Martin D28)
I have two dry acoustic sounds mainly for when I record and want a couple of choices. For live use I would likely stick to the 1st three presets.
The Cerberus also has a setting (accessed from the editor software on the computer) to set a volume boost for the preset (different from the analog boost). I have that set to be on by default because it hits the limiter I have in the FX loop harder and sounds better to me.
I am mainly a strummer when it comes to acoustic playing and this seems to work perfectly for that.
It’s a great plug ‘n’ play way for me to be ready for if I have any acoustic-style gigs with my piezo-equipped Telecaster-style guitar. A very rare occurrence, but I’m prepared in advance now!
