I wrote and recorded “New Tomorrow” in 2019 (not 2018 as stated in the video). It still needs a proper mix. The last weekend we had weather that pretty much was a reflection of what was depicted in this song.
It was one of those where I didn’t have that many lyrics and decided to let the music do the story-telling from about halfway through the song. The video footage is all from the last few days in the aftermath of the heavy rainfall we had over the weekend of 15th/16th October 2022.
I was stuck in my house for nearly 5 days due to flooding and managed to get out of my housing development, where I took some footage of the local vicinity. It’ll take some days more for the water to go down completely and it’s still raining on and off, but hopefully the worst has passed.
Despite the inconvenience I got off lightly. Many people lost their belongings and their businesses in the floods and there were several landslides and other dangers.
